About this Event

Register your business for the 21st Annual Flagler Avenue Mardi Gras Parade on Tuesday, February 17th 2026, at 7pm!

It is free to participate in and all you must do is decorate your float, vehicle or marching group, in Mardi Gras Spirit and throw beads to the spectators! This is a great way to introduce and promote your business or organization to patrons during the parade.

PARADE ROUTE:

The parade will travel from South Atlantic Avenue beginning at Columbus and turning west on Flagler Avenue and end on Pine Street. We encourage all parade participants to throw beads for the spectators. Flagler Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from 3pm – 10 pm. Cars also must be moved from the street to accommodate the large crowds.

JUDGING AND AWARDS:

If you and your decorated vehicle are super crafty you could take home one of the awards in FOUR Categories: Best Float, Best Marching Group, Best Vehicle and the Esteemed REX Award (best overall)!

RULES & REGULATIONS:

• Please do not throw trinkets before you have entered the parade route at Columbus and S. Atlantic. We do not want to encourage spectators into parade staging areas in search of beads.

• No fireworks, pyrotechnics or silly string allowed on floats or metallic confetti.

• Floats may be pushed or pulled by hand, golf carts, tractors, 4-wheelers, licensed trucks, scooters etc.

• We do require that all cars, trucks, tow units be licensed and covered by vehicle insurance and driven by a licensed driver.

• Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed in event area or on floats during the parade.

• Distribution of flyers, coupons, magazines etc are NOT allowed in the event area or parade route.

• Please remember that all entries have to be able to make a 90-degree turn at the intersection of Flagler Avenue and Pine Streets. Height restriction of 12 feet for floats. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

• Understanding that a parade will have a multitude of spectators and that its primary purpose is to entertain, it is important that each participant keep this in mind when deciding on a theme.

• Entries are encouraged to throw beads - the more the better!!! Candy should be handed out for safety reasons.

Rule of thumb: 1 Case (5 gross) of beads for each person throwing.

• Absolutely NO ENTRY will be allowed in the parade that is not decorated and lit in the "Spirit of Mardi Gras".

• The parade theme discourages candidates or publicity of such, social issues or targeted special interest groups. By makingan application entry, please understand the parade committee has final decision authority.

• Please keep in mind this is a community event, govern dress and actions accordingly.

• It is recommended that each float have a person following to discourage parade spectators from running or being in the parade route for safety reasons.

• Admittance of entrants will be at the discretion of the parade coordinator on the day of the parade.
