Join us once again for an evening of flagging, fanning, flow, dance, music, and celebration, the evening of Thursday, July 27th for Flag Alley 5, as part of Flagger Destination Weekend 2023! (Flag Alley is turning 5, how cool is that?)
Flag Alley is an evening originally envisioned by Jeff Hettinger, for flaggers, flow artists, and those that love them - an evening event by flow artists, for flow artists. This year the event will start out Flagger Destination Weekend on Thursday night, from 7:30 pm to 10 pm.
This will be more than the usual Open Studio, as we will be welcoming dance artists from all over the country - and all over the world - as part of Flagger Destination Weekend.
The hour before Flag Alley this year will be devoted to an exciting new flagging lesson from the talented and amazing George Jagatic - details are here: https://fb.me/e/12W4rvXkJ
Immediately after George's lesson, we will turn off the overhead lights, bring up the blacklights, and our live DJ will start spinning for 2 1/2 hours of flagging!
Wear whatever will get you in the spirit of the evening - leather, burner outfits, tie-die, or flagger-wear are encouraged - but please be aware that the space tends to be warm (upper 70's), so dress accordingly.
There is a $5+ suggested donation.
Location: The location is the Theater Flamenco (https://www.theatreflamenco.org/home). It is at 670 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco – between 17th and 18th. It is a short 5-minute walk from the 16th and Mission BART Station. Absolutely NO FOOD and ONLY WATER! We will be providing water. If you would like a cocktail, you might try Mission Bowling Club one block away, at 3176 17th St.
