Settle into the museum’s original 1900s Picture House for a screening of Five Fables - medieval Scots tales translated by Seamus Heaney and brought to life as enchanting animations for all ages.Originally commissioned for the BBC by the Ulster-Scots Broadcast Fund, these animated films are narrated by acclaimed comedian and actor Billy Connolly, with a specially composed score by internationally renowned pianist Barry Douglas.

This event is part of Ards and North Down Borough Council’s Leid and Lairn Festival, a month-long celebration of the rich language, culture, and history of the Ulster-Scots tradition. It is included as part of general admission to the Folk Museum and is free for members.
