About this Event
The Women Who Lead Conference is a full-day event that centers women’s voices in brave spaces and creates an opportunity for intergenerational engagement. We invite the FIU and South Florida community to the event as we celebrate the accomplishments of women in different fields and provide practical tools for navigating the world as women.
Students have the opportunity to connect with faculty and staff across the university and the surrounding community. We have a student ambassador program that provides students with an opportunity for professional development, networking, and reflection.
This year's theme is Women Making Waves in Leadership focused on women are making waves by leading within their communities in many roles that are expanding the expectations for gender, cultural customs, and societal pressures. Shifting the narratives for who can be an Olympic medalist, top music artist, high-ranking CEO, and entrepreneur, to name a few, a woman does not need to fit into society’s view of success to earn the title of a leader.
Women Who Lead Conference seeks to:
- Enhance participants’ understanding & awareness about the scope of women in our society today.
- Provide participants with an opportunity to interact with & learn from women leaders in various career fields.
- Develop a greater understanding of career opportunities available in a variety of fields.
- Assist our participants in developing their leadership plans.
In its 18th annual iteration, the conference is an event with different panelists, speakers, and experiences. See the schedule of events (below!) to plan your conference experience. Student tickets are FREE.
