My First Fish: Beginner Fishing ClassThe details 📅⏰ 📍
Saturday, May 17
10:00am - 12:00noon
Railroad Park Fishing Pier, 1301 S. Railroad Street, Lewisville, TX 75057
Interested in fishing but not sure where to start? My First Fish is a beginner-friendly class designed especially for kids ages 5–12, though anyone ages 5 and up is welcome to participate. We’ll cover the basics of setting up a fishing pole, casting, and catching fish—no experience needed.
This class takes place at the Railroad Park Fishing Pier, not at LLELA. The pond at Railroad Park provides a calmer environment that's ideal for beginners, especially since fishing lines can easily get caught in the river at LLELA.
We'll start by practicing casting on land, then try out our skills in the water. All equipment is provided, so there's no need to bring your own pole or gear.
Registration is required and is $10 per person.
Registration closes at noon on Friday, May 16.
Spots are limited, so sign up early to reserve yours.
Note: Adults 17 and older must have a valid Texas freshwater fishing license. Visit Texas Parks & Wildlife for details.
