Fish Tales & Scales: Celebrating the Lives of Salmonids through Art

Learn and make art to celebrate salmon and the physical super powers that not only help them survive, but make them beautiful creatures.

Join WSU Extension Water Stewardship for this evening Art & Science workshop in the delightful space where science meets art.

Grab a brew and join the discussion with Marine Ecologist Jeff Adams from Washington SeaGrant as he leads us into the watery world of salmonids. Jeff loves to tell the tales of mysterious physical features that help these magnificent fish literally change forms as they make an epic journey from fresh to marine water, then back again.

Shifting gears, we will meet Erica Applewhite, print artist and owner of White Apple Studio in Bremerton. Erica will lead us in a linocut print project in which participants will have the opportunity to make their own block(s) to create a salmon-themed print. Don't worry if you are a linocut print first-timer! All are welcome.

Don't miss out on the chance to work with Erica. You have probably seen her mural art all over western Washington and her smaller block prints at local shops.
