All are welcome at our contra dances, where we always have live music in the styles of Irish, old-time, swing, and newly composed music.Come dance with us from 7:30pm - 9:30pm to live music!
Contra dancing is a social dance. Contra is purely for fun and not for competition or performance. It requires no experience and focuses on community, making friends and dancing to live music.
You don’t need to bring a partner – part of the tradition is switching partners for each dance! A caller teaches each dance, so no lessons are needed; just show up and have fun!
New to contra? Please come at 7:10pm to learn a few basic steps before the dance starts. No experience needed!
There’s no smoking or drinking, and anyone’s welcome to dance together, regardless of age, experience, gender, preference for dogs or cats, etc.
Join us at Englewood Christian Church! (57 N Rural Street, Indianapolis). Enter the main entrance on Rural St. and turn into the parking lot. Once inside, follow the signs.
If you arrive after 7:30pm, the doors may be locked due to security reasons. There will be a wireless doorbell - ring the doorbell and the people at our welcome table will let you in!
After the dance, please stick around and help tidy the room. Make sure you take everything with you and throw all your trash away.

We will offer a sliding scale for dance admission and membership.
Admission: $5-$20
Membership: $20-$200+
