Drop-in Artmaking
Guests of all ages are invited to join our monthly evening art night led by a member of the Learning & Engagement Department. Each activity is inspired by a different exhibition, theme, or artwork. Art supplies are provided. No registration is required. Stop by our art table for 5 minutes or two hours and make something to bring home!
Upcoming Themes:
February 5- Photography and the Painted Image
Try your hand at colorizing vintage-style photographs. The museum will provide printed black-and-white photographs to paint. Feel welcome to bring your own photos as well!
March 5- Charcoal
Explore concepts of black and white composition through charcoal.
April 2- Mixed media collage
->Make an elevated collage by combining canvas, paint, and print collage materials.
May 7- Tiffany Painted “Glass”
Take inspiration from the bright and colorful favrile glass in Louis Comfort Tiffany in New London. Use paints and some surprising materials to make your own painted version.
