Steph Ox (“Foxy Oxy”) is passionate about changing the world through the art of writing and storytelling. Her mission is to create and provide poetry that invites listeners to be open-minded and compassionate in a world often filled with judgment.
Her work is rooted in her ability to understand many different perspectives and points of view. Her writing catalog includes different genres of poetry, stories, songs, and an evolving children’s book series.
She has created and curated sold-out poetry and comedy shows, opened for Grammy-nominated artists, and performed at colleges and festivals all around the United States. In 2023, Steph held the record for the highest-viewed poem on Instagram. She is going viral on Tik Tok, and will be releasing a spoken-word album this spring.
Steph is a children's book author as well as a motivational poet. In 2018, Steph published “Ketchup or Syrup?,” the first book in her children's book series aiming to provide engaging lessons that shape our children's values in the right direction. In 2021, the Amazon best-selling “Don't Draw On Mommy's Wall” is a bedtime story aiming to teach children about "miscommunication." Her third and most recent book, “Background: What You Can Be When You Grow Up,” features an African-American boy as its protagonist.
Just before her appearance at Berks Bards, Steph will be conducting a workshop with the children at Olivet Girls and Boys Club in Reading, sponsored by Bards.
