First Thursday Music Series 2026!
Join us at the Art House on the first Thursday of every month -- in our chapel hall's acoustically-magnificent listening room environment -- for a series featuring local and regional indie, folk, Americana and more.
The First Thursday Music Series is a great way to discover new music and help support independent artists: by pledging for your series pass, you're helping create a sustainable ecosystem where working artists can reliably find a committed audience of enthusiastic and attentive music-lovers.
Not only does your pledge directly support working artists in our area, but you're getting a great deal -- at less than $11 per show, that's nearly 50% off the face value of a regular ticket!
100% of the proceeds from the limited number of series passes sold during this campaign will go directly to the artists and sound technicians who make these shows possible. Any tickets not pre-sold as series passes during this campaign will be sold at the box office at regular ticket prices of $20-25.
Not sure if $11 sounds like a good deal?
Let's put it this way -- you're getting an entire evening of live music in a luxurious seated venue for less than the price of Big Macs Extra Value Meal!

WHY FUNDRAISE FOR THIS SERIES ON KICKSTARTER?
The live music scene is an inherently unstable ecosystem, where both venues and artists are struggling to make ends meet, while audiences' disposable income is increasingly limited. We're trying to find a solution that benefits everyone.
Performing artists typically earn a percentage of ticket sales, and venues rely on the remaining percentage and drink/snack revenue to pay for operating costs and payroll for sound/light technicians, etc. If a show doesn’t find an audience and the seats sit empty, everyone suffers — the venue goes out of pocket to cover costs, performers may not even be able to cover their gas money, let alone compensate themselves for their time and craft, and community members miss out on another wonderful and unique performance by one of the many incredibly talented artists in our area.
This uncertainty (which is unfortunately the rule and not the exception) means venues are often unable to commit to a guaranteed minimum payment for artists in advance, which can make for an uneasy and stressful process for everyone involved.
Even when they are planning to see a show, audiences frequently don't buy their tickets more than a couple days in advance, so oftentimes venues and artists, uneasy about low pre-sales, make unnecessary investments in paid promotions on print and social media, further exacerbating the problem. Zuck shouldn’t be taking money out of our local indie music scene... but unfortunately that’s frequently the reality when an audience isn't locked in more than a few days ahead of time.
With this subscription-based music series campaign, we’re hoping to rally our community and lock in an audience by raising the funds for these monthly shows in advance, so we can ensure our artists get paid well, and avoid any undue stress leading up to the playdate. At the same time, we want to make these shows accessible and affordable for those community members who are inspired to answer the call to subscribe, by offering series passes at half the normal face value of a concert ticket.
Our hope with this campaign is that we can reach a critical mass where the math works out in everyone’s favor — where we can pack the house with an enthusiastic audience, at an affordable price, and offer a guaranteed payment to our artists, so everyone can have a great time and walk away with a few extra bucks in their pocket at the end of the night. We hope you’ll join us!
