Join us for the FIRST Pensacola Songwriter Round of 2025! We're kicking off the year strong with some amazing local and touring songwriters, Sunday January 26th 3 pm at the Handlebar.
More about the songwriters:
+ Mick is a North American singer, songwriter, producer, and musician. He is the founder, male vocalist, guitarist, percussionist, and audio engineer in Stormfolk. Born in 1994 in Mobile, Alabama, Mick began playing music by ear. In 2007, Mick performed his first concert in Gulf Shores, AL. Soon after, he moved south with his father to Melbourne, FL. In high school, Mick was influenced by bands such as Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers. He lived in Orlando 4 years before moving to Nashville, then eventually to Pensacola to be closer to his family. Here, he focused more on original music and his current band, Stormfolk, comprised of himself, his sister Kaylyn Hastings on vocals and bass, and violinist Preston Czygan.
+ Runi Salem is the solo project of 30-year-old Kacee Russell from Memphis, Tennessee. At the ripe age of seventeen, she began writing songs about heartaches and imaginings of love, not knowing it would become her heart's stomping ground and hiding place. It carried her through her twenties and ultimately gave her space to express during the pandemic of 2020. This birthed Birds EP, a collection of songs coming out this fall. It features six songs that tell a story about feeling deeply connected to someone you've never truly known, and then realizing at the end of the day that you created their magic all on your own.
+ Nathan Clay is a pianist and composer based in Pensacola. His music focuses on compelling harmony and deeply confessional lyrics. Writing is an exercise in reflection and functions as a safe outlet for engaging with the feelings that motivate and define us. Through music, we question our place in the world and are reminded of the never ending journey between tension and release, unknowing and acceptance.
+ Michael R Magno, (or Magno as he’s known to friends&fans) is a performing
singer-songwriter based in Atlanta, GA. A multi-instrumentalist with a velvety voice,
Magno has a spirited way of engaging audiences in disarming fashion.
Inspired by 70s&80s radio, Magno weaves singable melodies and authentic lyrics that
aim for the hearts of music lovers. His live shows vibe like a classic mixtape at a social
mixer, where audiences arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
+ Based out of Pensacola, Florida, Katie Dineen has been playing music since childhood, first learning classical piano as a child before picking up guitar and veering towards folk and indie-rock music as a teenager. She started songwriting in earnest in her early twenties.
Songwriting is not only a personal endeavour for Katie but also a communal one. She founded and hosts the Pensacola Songwriter Rounds, a monthly show series with the intention to cultivate the Pensacola songwriter scene by providing a stage for songwriters to share their music, be mutually inspired, and collaborate with one another.
