Hello FSCC Folks,
Our FSCC monthly gathering will be on Saturday, May 4, at our regular location, the Blue Grass Stockyards Regional Marketplace located at 4561 Iron Works Pike, Lexington, KY 40511. We will meet at the regular time of 9-11am. As usual, thanks to our sponsors there will be no fee for attending. Note this is an outdoor event rain or sunshine. And remember out of respect for our sponsors and the other attendees, we do not need speed shots or donuts on the asphalt.
As usual our sponsors are providing the first 50 cups of coffee and donuts free at our gathering hall inside the Marketplace. Thank you to our sponsors: Blue Grass Stockyards/Marketplace, Wildcat Van Lines, and our newest sponsor, Crittenden Rawlings Clothing. Hosted by Cadre Prime LLC.
You can tell folks are ready to get out and start enjoying car season! Our April 6 weather was only in the mid 40’s but that did not stop convertible folks from dropping their tops. We had a really fun mix of vehicles. Porsche with eight cars was the largest marque. We also had three very different models of Jaguar. It is always neat to see the precision, fit, and smooth operation of a Jaguar V12 engine. In addition, the late model Jag cabriolet looked really nice with the top down. Also, there was a yellow Jeepster that is a very rare sight. Other attendees were Corvette, Ferrari, Mustang, Maverick, Dart, BMW, Pontiac, and more! It was a great opportunity for folks to swap car histories and learn about the various autos. We had several discussions regarding activities at the various car clubs. Members attending were from Corvette, Antique Auto, Model A, Porsche, Motor Heads, etc. It was a great opportunity for networking between the clubs.
Reminder. The Maserati Mingle will be held on Friday evening June 21. It will again be held at Summit at Fritz Farm. The location will again be limited to 60 vehicles. Groupings will be American Classics/Muscle, Corvette, Exotic/Luxury, Maserati, Mercedes (Concours Feature Marque for 2024), and Sports Cars. If you are interested in nominating a vehicle, the link is: https://forms.gle/Shxwc3T4N5TigQMAA. Nominations will close on Monday, May 27. Entries to be selected by Wednesday, May 29. You can contact me for questions at [email protected].
July provides us with great opportunities to see lots of super neat cars!
1) In addition to our July 6 FSCC event there will also be “Cruisin’ for a Cause”. This event venue will be at the Valvoline World Headquarters from 11am – 3pm. This is a family friendly charity event with $20 vehicle registration (including admission) or $10 general admission. Proceeds go to Lexington Habitat for Humanity. The event is hosted by MiddleGround Capital. For more information, email at [email protected].
2) The 21st annual Keeneland Concours d’Elegance will be held on Saturday, July 20 at the Keeneland Race Track. This year’s feature marque is Mercedes. In addition, classes have been added to include “Leadsled” and “Trail Blazers”. The Car Club Paddock area is unique in that we can park up front and close to the judged cars while casually relaxing among fellow car enthusiasts! Recall that the entire event is devoted to charity with all proceeds going to the sole beneficiary, the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. You can find out event specifics at https://keenelandconcours.com/.
Our next 2 FSCC events will be on Saturdays, June 1 and July 6.
Come on out and play in the ‘Yard.
