Attention all painters! We're kicking off this year's painting competitions!This rounds theme we are starting with is Heros/Generals/Special Characters.
We're running two entry levels, under 16s and everyone else.
Your entry can be on any size base, any game or any brand, as long as it's a Hero/General/Special Character.
You can enter your miniature at any stage; just drop it into the shop and inform Jack; however, your last chance to get your entry in will be 1400 on Sunday, 30 March.
This year, we will be doing things a little differently:
This is a tabletop mini-competition, not aimed at display painters. (Although they're more welcome to enter)
Each judging will involve, at a minimum, two judges.
Judges will provide feedback on request to provide helpful feedback and assist in promoting growth in the hobby and community.
Speed painting competitions throughout the year (these will come with a cost to cover materials)

Judging Categories - Four Categories worth up to 5 points (20 total)
1. Colour Choices
- Looking into shadows and highlights
- Contrast and conflict
2. Technical application
- Brushwork (Cleanliness)
- Effects like skin, leather, fabric
3. Rule of cool
- Creative flair
- Anything that shows customisation and creativity
- Fun
4. Basing
- How well it complements the paint job
- Does it tell the army's story?
