Feb. 27Florence Harding was the 29th First Lady of the United States. Florence aspired to be a concert pianist before eloping with her first husband at age 20. She had a son and was divorced in 1886. She remarried in 1891 to Warren G. Harding and began to work with him and run The Marion Star. When Warren G. Harding was inaugurated in 1921, his wife and father joined him on the dais. This was indicative of things to come, as Florence was very outspoken and one of the most visible First Ladies of her time. Listen to her share stories of her life as Editor and First Lady.
Florence Harding will be portrayed by Joyce Hackbarth, who is also an Educational Docent for Heritage Village Museum.
