About this Event

DI’KOBIE BERRY (KOBIEKNIGHT) is a vibraphonist and percussionist of more than 25 years of experience in jazz, concert, R&B, and world genres. Illinois born and raised, Di’Kobie first began playing music at the age of eight. He quickly became one of the top musicians of his elementary, high school and college ensembles. He soon favored the vibraphone as his principal instrument and elevated his skills to new levels playing not only with education ensembles, but at multiple venues across the country. He’s impressed many venues and other musicians that he is frequently asked to perform as an honored guest musician. Di’Kobie also takes great effort to teach music privately and special education publicly in order to prepare the next generation of musicians. When he’s not performing across the country or around the world, He plays across many Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana venues such as Lake Shore Cafe, Paul Henry’s and Region Ale. As a member multiple different groups (and a leader of a couple of his own groups), he has performed with a few notable musicians including Victor Goines, Von Freeman, Chris Green, Shawn Maxwell, Joe Marcinek, Thaddeus Tukes and others. A dedicated educator, writer, and traveler, Kobie strives to keep the art of the jazz vibraphone alive.
