First Mondays are fresh and full of imaginative pairings of well-loved classics and new works, performed in one of the finest places on the planet to hear music of this caliber: NEC’s own Jordan Hall.Tonight's program includes Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, Barber's Despite and Still, two Fauré songs - Après un rêve and Au clair de lune as well as his Piano Quartet in C Minor, op. 15. The performers are: Richard Watson, trumpet; John Ferrillo, oboe; Aldo Abreu, recorder; violinists Daniel Chong and Ken Hamao; violist Jessica Bodner; cellists Keehyun Kim and Lluís Claret; bassist Thomas van Dyck; harpsichordist Oscar Jiang; pianists Tanya Blaich and Max Levinson; and soprano Heidi Stober.
