⭐ Demi Clara

Demi Clara is a indie-folk and Americana singer-songwriter from the suburbs of Chicago! You may have seen her play at incredible local establishments like The Venue, Fitzgerald’s, Black Dog Vinyl Cafe and more. She is heavily inspired by artists like Jeff Tweedy, Phoebe Bridgers, Conor Oberst, Glen Hansard, Lucinda Williams, Todd Snider, Hayes Carll, and John Prine. She enjoys using humor in her songwriting such as sharing embarrassing childhood stories that serve to be self-deprecating metaphors for her adult life (“Tongue Tied”). She often opens about relationships and navigating heartbreak (“Come Back In”) and owning her sexuality (“The Way” and “Kiss Me”. She also writes about navigating grief and loss, self-esteem struggles and mental health challenges. She hopes that honesty and vulnerability in her songs can resonate with others and help folks feel less alone. Demi spreads messages of empathy and is inspired by her loved ones (“Train Song”). She enjoys putting together songwriter showcases in the Chicago-land and playing alongside her gifted friends the most. She aims to uplift the beautiful arts community by supporting her friends and wearing her heart on her sleeve.
