First Fridays at the View is where grown folks come to listen to live jazz, dance and have a good time. Our featured artist for March is The Dennis "Finger Roll" Nelson Band. Dennis “Finger Roll” Nelson is a dynamic Jazz guitarist born in Mobile, Alabama and raised in Yonkers, New York. He is a songwriter, producer and sought after artist that performs Latin Jazz as well. “Finger Roll” has performed throughout the United States and Europe.
He was a Songwriter for Robert Palmer's Hyperactive Platinum “Rip Tide” album and wrote and produced songs for The Temptations “Ear-Ristible” album that won the Temps their 3rd Grammy Award. “Finger Roll” was also a featured artist on Hidden Beach’s Unwrapped albums Volume 2-7. Dennis has toured with Ray Charles, Peobo Bryson, The Temptations, Tom Browne, Otis Day and The Knights from The Movie Animal House. He has mastered the art of turning chart-topping rap music into amazing jazz records. His latest album is “Hidden Pieces”.
