First Fridays at the View is where grown folks come to listen to live jazz, dance and have a good time. Our featured artist for September is the "Ponpon Chen Quintet". Ponpon Chen, a 23-year-old jazz rising star from Taipei, is a gifted vocalist and guitarist. With a signature blend of jazz guitar, scat singing, and storytelling, she crafts a sound rich in soul and cultural depth—paying tribute to legends like George Benson, Chet Baker, and Ella Fitzgerald, while showcasing a style uniquely her own.
Since the age of 12, she's graced stages across Asia and the U.S., with breakout performances on Hunan TV's Come Sing With Me 3 and Taiwan's Jungle Voice. In 2024, she received a U.S. artist visa, launched her first jazz tour, and went viral with her performance of But Not For Me.
Recently featured by ABC News and praised by Grammy-winning musicians, Ponpon is captivating global audiences with her authenticity, talent, and East-West jazz fusion.
