Rosemary of Solstice Creations loved the endless sunlight of the summer solstice, but after years in Fairbanks, the winter solstice became her favorite. Living in Fairbanks sparked her passion for creating fleece clothing—perfect for both Alaskan winters and summers. Rosemary made her first fleece skirt for cross-country skiing and loved it so much that she thought everyone should have one. Now, Rosemary calls her creations 'FUNctional fleece,' including a new skirt style with pockets!
After arriving in Fairbanks at 23, Heather of Mountain Heather Creations was instantly inspired by the stunning views of the Alaska Range and possessed a innate sense of practicality. Her artistic journey began with a passionate grade school teacher and continued through her education. Heather earned a Bio/Geo degree with an art minor. She initially pursued a graduate degree in marine biology at UAF, hoping to blend a love for art and science, but quickly realized her heart was in art, not science. That’s when she left grad school and launched Mountain Heather. Recently, Heather has shifted focus from polar fleece to repurposed fabrics and scraps.
