Join us for our next First Friday Live presenting UT Appalachian Strings featuring The Collective Unit Revival Band!
In lieu of the Makers Moment, we will instead be featuring a song on a violin from the collection from Violins of Hope (https://www.violins-of-hope.com/).
About The Band:
UT Appalachian Strings is a student ensemble at the University of Tennessee directed by UT musicology lecturer and local musician Sean McCollough. The ensemble currently includes six bands that play bluegrass and other music rooted in Appalachia.
The Collective Unit Revival Band features several of the ensemble’s most experienced players. In their set you can expect some bluegrass standards, but you’re also likely to hear songs tinged with jazz and rock along with a few originals. The band is made up of Levi Hansen (banjo/vocals), Jay Lloyd (fiddle/mandolin/vocals), Eli Thompson (dobro/guitar/vocals), Tucker Jones (mandolin), Jensen Halsey (guitar) and Ryan Cliff (bass).
