We are delighted to have two artists showing their work with us in April- Andrea Kisicki & Amy Montgomery.Andreas bio- I use found boxes & cabinets & mostly found objects to construct mixed media pieces. The beauty of the box format is that it mimics a room, which I hope draws in the viewer.
The free-standing pieces are also inspired by found objects, dolls & other small things that find their way to me.
I like using old things that might otherwise have been discarded & giving them a new life. I feel they have an aura from having existed in a different time & maybe they have a story to tell.
Amy, purveyor of Anarchy Arts, is not afraid of being different. Her work runs the gamut of artistic medium from poured acrylic paintings to mixed media and sculpture. Her inspiration comes from creating beauty out of what is dismissed by others. Be it broken mirrors, wood scraps, or taboo subject matter, Amy ensures that all of her found objects find their full potential in her work.
