Join us at Saunders Springs in Radcliff for some great trails, fellowship and FUN!! Put on by the new combo KyMBA-Lou with the KyMBA-LT detachment. We will be hosting a fundraising event for the Otter Creek IMBA trail accelerator grants. $5 will get yah a tasty hotdog and drink. Donations welcome. Through the Trail Accelerator Grant, Meade County seeks to unlock the full potential of the 2,300-acre Otter Creek Recreation Area, which currently offers about nine miles of trails. The grant will fund a comprehensive trail assessment, recommendations for improvements, and design trail alignments for 6 additional miles, with options for all skill levels. The project emphasizes community engagement, ensuring that local voices help shape a trail system that balances recreation with conservation of threatened, endangered, and state-designated species found in the park. Serving several metro areas of more than one million people, and located next to a military base where residents and their families need access to stress-relieving outdoor opportunities, the park is poised to become a regional destination for both recreation and wellness. With new trails, expanded camping opportunities, and improved access, the project will strengthen tourism, foster community pride, and create a sustainable trail system that welcomes riders of all skill levels.
