PROPAGATING AND GROWING EPISCIASEpiscias, sometimes known by the unofficial nickname "Flame Violets", are relatives of African violets and most often grown for their beautiful foliage. Club members Ron and Jan Davidson will demonstrate and discuss propagation methods and how to grow these striking gesneriads for enjoyment and an AVSA show. A limited number of stolens will be available for club members to take and propagate at home.
Ron and Jan are AVSA master judges and long-time members of the African violet and gesneriad community. They are officers of First AVSA Dallas and valued mentors for club members.
First African Violet Society of Dallas meets the third Thursday September through May (except December) in the Classroom at North Haven Gardens. Presentations are open to the public and are free. Club membership is $15 for the year (August-May) and can be paid by cash or check at any meeting.
