California’s landscapes have been burning for thousands of years. Nothing will change that in the foreseeable future. In fact, just the opposite—our state’s landscapes are burning at greater frequency and ferocity.

The Las Virgenes - Triunfo Joint Powers Authority invite you to join us as we welcome author and horticulturalist Douglas Kent as he shares strategies to protect your family, your property, and your community from wildfire. Kent will be focusing structures, defensible space, and the role of plants in fire protection. Kent is the author of the best-selling book , Firescaping: Protecting Your Home with a Fire-Resistant Landscape, teaches at a variety of colleges, and has been working to create fire-protected properties since 1994. His presentations are professional, educational and dynamic.
