About this Event
Firefighting strategies for solar and battery-related incidents
Solar and battery technology is becoming more common in homes, businesses, and communities everywhere. While these systems deliver enormous benefits, they also introduce unique considerations for firefighters. Traditional strategies must be updated to reflect the realities of working safely around this evolving technology.
This training, provided by SAFE (Solar and Fire Education), equips firefighters with the latest guidance to confidently manage incidents involving:
• Scooters and e-bikes
• Electric vehicles (EVs)
• Large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS)
• Solar panel farms
• Residential and commercial structure fires involving PV and ESS
Participants will receive detailed Standard Operating Guidelines (SOGs) covering residential PV/ESS, commercial PV, solar farms, and EV-related fires. These editable documents can be customized to fit each department’s needs and response capabilities.
Participants will also be able to apply for one continuing education credit from the Industrial Emergency Council (IEC).
Training will be held at the Enphase corporate headquarters in Fremont, California, in a classroom-style training center with live example systems for hands-on learning. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Equip your team with the knowledge to meet today’s challenges safely and effectively. Register today for this free training.
