**Course Overview: Firearms Instructor Training**Cost $695.00
This course focuses on advanced training for pistol and shotgun instruction. Participants must possess a comprehensive understanding of the firearms utilized and achieve a minimum score of 80% on an initial qualification assessment on the first day of training in order to proceed within the program. Successful completion of the course requires a passing score of at least 90% on both a written examination and the practical shooting qualification.
Please note, this is not an introductory course. Key topics covered include range management, lead and hearing safety, overall range safety, and the analysis and correction of shooting performance issues. Participants will acquire the necessary skills to become certified firearms instructors within their respective departments. This training is also recognized as a requisite for obtaining firearms specialist licensure through POST.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in safe weapons handling and to be physically equipped to engage in police combat shooting courses. The focus of this course is not on teaching participants how to shoot but rather on equipping them to instruct others in firearms use as law enforcement professionals. The course is structured to be fast-paced, necessitating outside study and preparation.
Due to the hands-on nature of this training, class size is limited to 20 students.
**Pre-requisites:**
Participants must be licensed Peace Officers or employed in law enforcement (pre-approval required) and must already have training and qualifications in pistol and shotgun use.

- **Pistol Rounds:**
- 1000 Target Rounds for your weapon
- 100 .38 Special or .357 Rounds
- **Shotgun 12 Ga. Rounds:**
- 100 Birdshot
- 50 Slugs
- 50 Buckshot (LE Fight Control recommended)
