About this Event
Build safe, confident firearm skills in our Level 1 Firearm Education class — a focused, instructor-led course designed for new shooters and anyone wanting a solid safety foundation. All instruction is classroom and dry-fire / manipulation drills only. Private live-fire training is available and recommended for students who want supervised range practice. Private training will be conducted on a different date and is not included in this course price.
What you’ll learn
- Core gun safety: the four primary safety rules and safe handling habits you’ll use every time.
- Loading & unloading: safe, repeatable procedures for pistols and common semiauto platforms (dry practice).
- Grip, stance & presentation: fundamentals that improve control and readiness.
- Basic marksmanship theory: sight alignment, trigger control, and structured dry-fire drills to build fundamentals safely.
- Introduction to force & legal considerations: practical overview of use-of-force concepts and responsibility (educational only — not legal advice).
- Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP/CCW) qualification: this course meets the training requirements for Florida concealed weapons permit applications.
Why take this class?
- Safety first. Our main goal is to make every student safer and more competent — focusing on habits that transfer to live fire.
- Hands-on instruction without live fire. Small class sizes let instructors provide individual feedback during dry-fire and manipulation exercises.
- Private live-fire training available & recommended. While this course covers mandatory instructional topics and practical dry practice, we strongly recommend follow-up private live-fire coaching to develop real-world shooting proficiency under instructor supervision.
- Practical next steps. Although Florida does not require a permit to carry in some circumstances, obtaining a concealed weapons permit is recommended for reciprocity with other states and to avoid purchase-delay issues at point of sale.
- FFL support on site. We are a licensed firearms dealer (FFL) and can assist students who wish to purchase a firearm after class — including guidance on transfer procedures, background checks, and safe storage options.
Who should attend
- First-time gun owners and those new to firearm handling.
- People seeking the State of Florida concealed weapons permit qualification.
- Anyone wanting a safety-focused foundation before pursuing supervised live-fire practice.
Logistics & requirements
- Length: typically 2.5 hours
- Bring: valid photo ID
- Firearms: Firearms will be privided. Students may bring unloaded firearms for dry practice only if the instructor approves;
- Safety & waiver: all students must sign a standard safety waiver prior to participation.
