You DON'T need a ticket to attend/read. OPEN MIC SYSTEM: A few open mic tickets are available to reserve on Eventbrite; the other slots are for sign-up on the night. Priority given to poets who didn't get to read last month. If you read last month and want to read again, your name will go into the tub for random draw to fill empty slots. Most poets WILL get to read, but sometimes the list is just too busy to fit everyone in!
Recommended arrival time: 7.30PM or earlier. Gig starts 8PM.
Fire & Dust is a monthly poetry open mic event. All welcome - page poets, performance poets, slammers, rappers, spoken word artists, and anyone happy to listen to some poetry.
Open mic slots available. For a guaranteed slot: register for a ticket. Alternatively, request to sign up on the night. Slots are limited to 3 minutes (a few extended slots may be available on request.)
Bring poems, bring friends, or just bring yourself along for a listen!

HEADLINER: MARTIN FIGURA
Martin Figura's collection and show Whistle were shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Award and won the 2013 Saboteur Award for Best Spoken Word Show. Shed (Gatehouse Press) and Dr Zeeman's Catastrophe Machine (Cinnamon Press) were published in 2016. The Dr Zeeman's Catastrophe Machine Show was shortlisted in the 2018 Saboteur Awards. He lives in Norwich with Helen Ivory and sciatica. Together they began hosting Live from The Butchery Zoom readings during Lockdown with leading guest poets, winning the Saboteur Best Regular Spoken Word Night 2021 Award. His newcollection The Remaining Men was published in February
