About this Event
Sometimes survival is more than just good luck.
There are things you can do now to improve the protection of your property, your family and livestock in the event of a bushfire.
The Balnarring CFA is inviting property and horse owners to attend a Fire Safety Essentials workshop on Saturday 23 November from 3pm till 4.30pm.
At the end of the session, you will have a better understanding of your personal bushfire risk and what you can do now to reduce that risk. You will be provided with an overview of:
- The local bushfire risk including fuels, topography and weather
- What it could be like to experience fire in the local context
- How to source information and stay informed about fire
- The Fire Danger Ratings - how to source and use them
- Official Warnings and Advice and how to take action
- The outlook for the current fire season
- How to protect your horses, livestock and pets
The workshop will provide you with a toolkit of practical ideas to improve the safety of your home, property, animals and family.
Please register your interest by 20 November to secure your place.
Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival.
