October is National Fire Prevention Month, and the GFWC Alachua Woman’s Club Environmental Committee is excited to host a special Fire Prevention Awareness Night on Thursday, October 9, from 5:30–7:30 PM at the clubhouse. This is a free, family-friendly event designed to bring neighbors, students, and families together for an evening of safety, learning, and fun.Here’s what’s happening:

6:00 – 6:45 PM | Expert Fire Safety Panel & Q&A
Hear from local professionals including the fire department, a forest ranger, Crime Prevention, and a burn survivor. Learn about:
• Fire extinguishers & smoke/smart detectors
• Kitchen fires & home/electrical safety
• Forest/wildfire prevention and fire kits
• Real-life stories and safety tips
Followed by an audience Q&A session.
