Have you ever wanted to learn how to play and/or perform with FIRE? Here is your chance!!!The Winnipeg Circus Club is once again hosting its annual Fire Performance Safety Workshop. This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn how to safely play and perform with fire and how to be a responsible safety spotter for fellow spinners.
This safety workshop will include:
- Types of fuel and their uses
- What every fire kit needs
- What to be aware of while setting up to spin fire
- How to fuel your prop
- How to extinguish your prop
...And more!
The workshop will begin with a safety seminar at Coronation Park, followed by an active fire demonstration, and then the final portion of the workshop is when you will get the chance to use fire!!
Admission fee is $10 per person. Please wear natural fiber (cotton, bamboo, hemp, wool, etc) and tie back hair or wear a hat.
This workshop is open to WCC members and non-members alike.
*NOTE*
Children under 18 must have parent or guardians permission, parents/guardians must also be present during full workshop.
*Fire Props (Torches, Poi, Staff, Hoop & more) will be available for use*
If you have your own props, please feel free to bring them along!
