CLASS DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION
To provide the Chief Officer the knowledge and skills to meet the min. JPRs in NFPA 1021. This course is specialized for the Chief Officer who is ready to advance to the upper management level of his/her department. The program is designed and intended for Command level officers and/or Administrators who have the responsibilities of supervising and administrating a Fire Department or Fire District. This course consists of subjects designed to give the officer more knowledge of management and administration so that he/she can make basic evaluations of employee relations, delegate to subordinates, assess personal leadership styles through situational leadership, discipline subordinates, and applies coaching/motivational techniques for the Company Officer to assume a more proactive role in his/her department. This is a projects-based class. Candidates must be self-motivated and possess the skills and abilities to function independently.
