📢📢Registration is Open📢📢🌶🌶🌶IT'S TIME!!!! Tag your hometown fire department, first responders, local businesses and foodies!!! The Fire Museum of Texas is excited to announce our First Annual Fire Museum of Texas Chili Cookoff!! This event is particularly significant for us as we celebrate the life and legacy of our dearly loved Allison Getz.
Allison Getz, our esteemed former board president, dedicated over 15 years of service to our museum, championing education and promoting fire safety and prevention among young visitors and families. Our Children’s Activity Center, established on the second floor of our museum in 1986, serves this purpose, welcoming over 14,000 students from Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana yearly, forming the cornerstone of our educational programs.
In honor of Allison’s profound legacy, which continues to inspire following her passing last year, the museum board has embarked on transforming the center into a premier S.T.E.M. educational facility, renaming it the Allison Getz Fire Education Center, with event proceeds allocated to support this transformative project.
The first annual Fire Museum of Texas Chili Cook-Off will be held here at the museum on Saturday February 22, 2025 from 9am to 3pm. We invite you to show support through various participation options. We are currently seeking cooking teams, event sponsors, donations and volunteers.
