Come learn how to light a fire when everything is wet out!You will learn how to create fire from scratch using only materials you gather in the forest. We’ll share tips on fire safety, fire structures, and the principles behind fire—from its initial spark to the process of tending it down.
By the end of this workshop, you'll feel more confident lighting a fire wherever you are, with whatever is available to you.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how to start a fire with modern tools such as farro rod, matches, and lighters.
We will demo friction fire with a bow drill to light our central fire, please note, the focus of this workshop won’t be on bow drill techniques. If you're particularly interested in mastering that, consider joining our weekend-long workshop, where you’ll learn to make your own bowdrill kit.

What to bring:
Come prepared for any type of weather conditions and staying outside for 4h. Dress ideally with wool and layers. Avoid cotton right on your skin. We highly recommend to bring a small insolation pad for when we are on the ground (small sheep skin, small thermopad, small blanket)
We won’t have a lunch break, bring snacks if needed and water.
If you have your own farro rod, bring it with you (it is not mandatory for the course)
***We highly recommend having with you a fixed blade knife.
