Get fired up for the Forget Me Not Firewalk!

Want to achieve what you never thought possible? Why not take on the ultimate mind-over-matter challenge as you brave a barefoot walk over burning hot coals (up to a scorching 550oC)!

Taking place at Russell House, we’re bringing the heat to half-term this October with this thrilling challenge – a popular bucket list activity!

Guinness World Firewalking Record Breaker, Scott Bell from UKFirewalk will be on hand to provide training and advice to ensure a fun and safe experience.

Can’t stand the heat? Our wince-inducing LegoWalk is great fun for all the family (age 5 and over)! But be warned, as anyone who’s stood on a stray LEGO brick can confirm, this isn’t an easy option. Ouch!

Why Firewalk for Forget Me Not?

Despite the vital work we do, we only receive a fraction of the funds we need from the government or NHS. That’s why, as a charity, we rely on fundraising and the support of our local community. By taking on our Firewalk or LegoWalk and getting your friends and family to sponsor you, you’ll help us continue to be here to support local children with life-shortening conditions, their families and families living with loss.

Where: Russell House, Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, Fell Greave Road, Huddersfield. HD2 1NH.

Time: Event 5pm-8pm

Lego Walk 5pm

Firewalk training 6.15pm

Firewalk 7pm

Lego Walk entry fee: £12 sign up fee / no minimum sponsorship target. Minimum age: 5

Fire Walk entry fee: £30 if you raise a minimum £100 in sponsorship or £50 and no minimum sponsorship target simply raise as much as you can. Minimum age: 12

On the day entry fee: Fire Walk on the day £50 / Lego Walk on the day £15

You are still able to sign up to either activity on the day, you must ensure you arrive at 5pm to complete the lego walk training and/or by 6pm to complete the firewalk training.

What happens next?

Once registered you will be sent an email with more information regarding the event.

What about sponsorship?

We're asking all our Firewalk participants to raise £100 per person and our LegoWalk participants to raise as much as you can. When you register, you will receive a confirmation email it will include a link to our sponsorship form.

If you raise £50 you will recieve a Forget Me Not t-shirt. T-shirts will be available to collect on the day.

Is there a cut-off date for signing up?

Fire Walk - Pre-registration will close at 23.59 on Tuesday 29th October. Fire walkers are still permitted to sign up on the day you must arrive by 6pm to sign-up on the day and must attend the safety briefing at 6.15pm.

Lego Walk - Pre-registration will close at 23.59 on Tuesday 29th October. Lego Walkers are permitted to sign up on the day. Please make sure you arrive at 5pm if you wish to sign up on the day for Lego Walk.

What is the distance?

The Firewalk is around 5m and the Legowalk is around 2m (20,000 blocks).
