Fire & Flour: A Woodland FeastPasta, Fire & Feasting in the Blackdown Hills

Join us for an unforgettable evening of pasta-making, fire-cooked food and open-air dining beneath the trees at Combe Head House – a thriving smallholding and beautifully restored Elizabethan manor house on the edge of the Blackdown Hills.
This unique event is led by Chiara Tomasoni, Italian pasta devotee, former Head Chef at River Cottage, and MasterChef: The Professionals 2024 finalist.
We’ll begin with a welcome drink and summer canapés before Chiara leads a relaxed and engaging pasta-making demo, where you’ll have the chance to get hands-on, rolling and shaping elements of your main course using traditional Italian techniques.
As the sun dips, we’ll make our way to the woodlamd dining table for a four-course feast cooked over fire, inspired by bold Italian flavours and seasonal ingredients grown, reared or foraged right here on the land – or sourced from neighbouring producers who share our respect for nature.
Expect a warm, communal atmosphere, long-table dining under the canopy, and food that celebrates simplicity, quality, and place.
Evening Schedule
4:30pm – Arrival, welcome drink & canapés
5:00–6:00pm – Pasta demo with Chiara (guests get involved)
6:30–9:30pm – Four-course woodland dinner by firelight

BBQ summer vegetables, burnt lemon, gremolata
Braised Dexter beef shin, homemade pasta, smoked tomatoes, Buffalo mozzarella
