About this Event
atsec information security and the University of Texas are partnering for a day-long cybersecurity bootcamp, with both in-person and remote options. As the founder of the International Cryptographic Module Conference (ICMC), host of the Cryptographic Module User Forum (CMUF), and major participant in the technical communities surrounding the FIPS 140-3 standard, atsec has strived to provide useful resources to the IT security community and we are excited to extend this to academia and the next generation of experts.
Conferences can be prohibitively expensive to attend, so we decided to bring expert industry knowledge to the campus environment and make it easily accessible for students – plus, we’ll provide ways for students and IT security practitioners to connect at the event.
This year’s event is free for all participants and aims to provide a fresh look on the latest developments for ISO/IEC 19790, which is the core of FIPS 140-3 and its future revision. It's beneficial for the cryptographic community to understand the upcoming changes as early as possible in the anticipated publication of ISO/IEC 19790:2025. It is even more important for chip vendors due to their longer development cycles compared to software products to adopt the necessary changes. Panel discussions, breaks, and a dedicated time slot for networking and recruiting will give participants ample opportunity to meet their peers and potential future colleagues.
We are looking forward to a great line-up of expert speakers who will deliver insights from both academic and industry perspectives, and we are still updating the event schedule at this time. Keep an eye out for new sessions!
