We warmly invite you to join us for a special finissage and artist talk with Valerie Collart, Lotte Henriksen, and Ursula Nistrup in celebration of the exhibition Metamorphosing Tactility. The artist talk will offer insight into the artistic practices of Collart, Henriksen, and Nistrup, exploring the thoughts and processes behind their works in the exhibition. The talk will be held at 16.30 and will be moderated by art historian and director Metha Rais-Nordentoft.
Valérie Collart's porcelain and plaster sculptures are inspired by natural forms, such as seashells, which are wrapped in textiles before casting. The resulting forms appear simultaneously hard and soft, fragile yet powerful. Drawing inspiration from surrealism, Collart interprets nature and explores the veiled and mutable.
Ursula Nistrup and Lotte Henriksen's silk sculptures are like floating metamorphoses in space. Some have found their place on the wall, while others float like waves from the ceiling. A blush-colored silk twists around itself, reminiscent of a butterfly pupa or perhaps a piece of hanging meat developing its flavor.
We look forward to welcoming you to this sensuous and poetic exhibition for an afternoon of art, conversation, and celebration. The event is generously supported by 1664 Blanc.
