It is with mixed emotions that we wanted you to know that this year’s 10th Annual Finish The Run will be the last.As a family, we’ve talked at length about this and feel like #10 is a good round number to choose as the final hurrah.
We’ve done a lot of reflecting: what began in the fall of 2016 as a casual run/walk with family and some friends to honor David, has grown into a glorious gathering of community and togetherness, filled with intention and a large dose of fun.
We’ve been humbled by the continuing outpouring of support to help us pull this off every year and the sizable presence at each year’s event continues to amaze us…….but we feel like it just might be time to release this ritual in its current form—before it becomes an obligation or a chore for those who continue to show up. We’re thinking we want to end “at the top of our game”, just like where David was with his life when he left this Earth.
It’s bittersweet, for sure. So please, mark your calendars for this year’s Finish The Run: Sunday, September 7th, 10 a.m. at Boom Island Park in NE Minneapolis. Let’s celebrate and run/walk with intention. Hope to see you there!
