What does it truly mean to discover your purpose—and how do you turn that purpose into a meaningful career in STEM?
Join us for an inspiring, interactive introductory workshop led by Courtlandt Butts, a nationally recognized STEM educator, Stanford d.School Designer, American Academy of Underwater Science Instructor and lifelong advocate for youth leadership, environmental stewardship, and experiential learning.
Designed for middle school, high school, and college-bound students of all backgrounds, this dynamic session provides clarity, confidence, and real-world tools for navigating future pathways in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Students Will Explore:
• How to identify personal strengths, interests, and purpose
• The wide range of STEM careers—from marine science and engineering to AI, health science, technology, robotics, and beyond
• How real-world exposure can shape career direction
• The mindset and habits high-achieving STEM professionals use to excel
• How to design a pathway from school to skills to college to career
• Ways to stand out through internships, certifications, leadership, and community impact
About the Facilitator
Courtlandt Butts is a STEM educator, global aquatics professional, and youth-development leader whose work bridges science, leadership, environmental stewardship, and experiential education. He perviously served on the Board of Directors for National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) Worldwide and has spent years mentoring young people through aquatics, diving, field science, and leadership programs across the U.S. and internationally.
