Jill and Suze are absolutely delighted to bring you this Beginners Qi Gong workshop. A relaxed session which will be full of fun and laughter and ‘finding your flow’We will look at ‘Shibashi’ which is a set of QiGong exercises placing emphasis on its 18 movements alongside breathing techniques.
We’ve chosen it purposefully for its beautiful, gentle and flowing movements.
Shibashi is easy to learn, suitable for everyone and is very relaxing to do.
Benefits:
✨ improves circulation and digestion.
✨ reduce physical tension
✨ reduce mental stress
✨ relaxation
The Shibashi movement will be followed by a Chinese Tea Ceremony.
A Chinese tea ceremony, known as ‘cha dao’ or ‘the way of tea’ is a beautiful and mindful practice where tea is brewed and served using the ‘Gongfu’ technique. A small tea pot is used with a high ratio of leaves to water, steeping for short amounts of time with multiple brews. This helps to reveal the different characters of the tea and subtle nuances hidden in each leaf.
Chinese tea ceremonies are traditionally performed at weddings for the couple to show respect to their in-laws and elders. During our ceremony, through the ritual we will show honour and respect to the Earth, the Heavens, Each other and, of course the Tea.
WHO ARE WE?
Jill and Suze met while working in the NHS as Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners within Mental Health. Spanning 10 years they have facilitated many Qi Gong groups to NHS patients promoting wellness from the inside out.
Delighted to be working together once again, this afternoon is set to bring you an afternoon of Qi Gong and learning to “ go with your flow “
WHY NOW?
We have so much to learn from Nature!
Spring Equinox marks the transition from Winter to Spring.
Equinox means ‘equal night’. It refers to the moment when day and night are nearly equal in length.
In Qi Gong winter is associated with Yin, we see this reflected in Nature: cold, dark, it’s time for slowing down, for rest. The days are short.
Spring equinox marks the time of year that nature awakens and energy levels rise. A time for growth and new beginnings.
It calls us forward for our own growth and a return to balance. It’s time for the seeds planted in winter to start blooming
It’s a time when Yin and Yang are equally balanced. Warm and cold, night and day, rest and activity are all manifesting in our natural world.
We’ve specifically chosen Sunday 23rd March to bring you a fabulous afternoon of ‘learning’, a great opportunity to set the seeds in motion for change. And most of all hopefully help you find your flow and set some balance in your life.
