About this Event
The Opportunity:
In the fall of 1998, David Seth Cohen was fresh out of college and set out to pursue his dream of working in the film industry. With little luck and after months of searching, David finally got the break he deserved. He was awarded the role of Production Assistant in the costume department for a studio movie shooting in New York City titled "Guy Gets Kid"...or as we all came to know it, "Big Daddy".
The Shock:
David was asked to drop off Adam Sandler's suit for the premiere of The Waterboy at the front desk of Sandler's apartment building. The doorman sent David up to Adam's apartment to deliver the suit directly to him and it was Adam who answered the door. Adam invited David to come in, hang out and have a drink with him. David said no.
The Quest:
Almost 10 years later. Feeling lost, restless and unhappy, David couldn't help but wonder what would have happened had he just stayed for that drink.
Armed with a couple of video cameras, some money from his family, and a few friends acting as crew, David quit his job at the TV station and risked everything to recapture that very moment he had regretted for so long - an opportunity to hang out and share a drink with his hero - laughing, sharing stories, discussing dreams, becoming life long friends and who knows?
