When: Saturday, February 18, 2023 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Join Urban Sketcher John Pitblado for a workshop at the newly renovated Echo Park.
Explore elements of loose, dynamic urban sketches and develop a language of expressive line and shapes using the most beautifully simple set of tools: stick and ink and a limited palette of colors.
As simple as these tools appear they have tremendous potential for the Urban Sketcher. Producing a line that is inherently varied and expressive, they have much to teach both the new and more experienced sketcher.
We’ll begin by shaping our drawing tool then on to explore the tool’s potential for markmaking and shape creation. We’ll explore calligraphic marks, a sort of visual shorthand and add color using a limited palette.
Class size is limited to 15 students. To assure a place register early!
