Try on a creative career with the MDS School Holiday programme.
Available to students in Years 11, 12 and 13, Find Your Fit lets you experience two creative career paths in just one day, with workshops in 3D Animation and VFX, Game Art, Game Programming, and Interactive Design.
Select the two study areas you’re most interested in learning more about and you’ll be enrolled in two of our immersive, hands-on workshops. You’ll be guided by our award-winning faculty, creating awesome projects and learning new skills in a fun, supportive environment. Each workshop runs for three hours with a lunch break in between – no prior knowledge is necessary for any of the sessions.
3D Animation and VFX
There will be two different sessions you could be placed in:
Digital Sculpting: This workshop is designed to give participants experience in 3D modelling with Z Brush. Students will digitally sculpt CGI creature with this used friendly modelling tool. The session will be guided and supported by the Bachelor of Art and Design Faculty. No previous knowledge necessary.
Dynamics: This workshop will give participants a taste of dynamic simulations: explosions, fluid simulations, fire and smoke. The session will be guided and supported by the Bachelor of Art and Design Faculty. No previous knowledge necessary.
Game Art
Learn to create low-poly 3D props that could be used inside a game engine. Hosted by the Bachelor of Creative Technologies Faculty, this session is perfect for any budding artists or creative students with a passion for Game Development.
Game Programming
Create a simple game using a 3D engine that explores fundamental aspects of programming and design. Hosted by the Bachelor of Software Engineering Faculty, this session is perfect for anyone interested in the technical side of Game Development.
Interactive Design
This workshop has been designed to allow students create hands on, fun and immersive interactive experiences. No previous knowledge necessary and students don’t need to bring anything with them at this stage. The session will be guided and supported by the Bachelor of Media Design Faculty.
The programme is available across July 14th and 15th. To register, choose the day you’d like to attend and complete the registration form with your choice of two workshops. If you'd like to attend all four workshops please sign up for both days and select different workshops for the two days.
