Empowering girls & moms with financial literacy to build stronger homes, better bonds & brighter financial futures—together.
About this Event

The Financially Fierce 8-week empowerment program is a transformative financial literacy experience designed for teen girls and their mothers to journey through together. This intergenerational program offered by Girl Talk Inc. is not just about money—it’s about creating a shared foundation of knowledge, trust, and confidence around finances that will positively impact households, strengthen family relationships, and shift the trajectory of futures.

Throughout this empowering series, mothers and daughters will engage in hands-on, practical learning sessions that cover essential financial concepts such as:

  • Budgeting for Real Life: How to track income and expenses, set spending priorities, and plan for needs vs. wants.
  • The Power of Saving: Exploring savings goals, emergency funds, and long-term financial security.
  • Good Debt vs. Bad Debt: Understanding loans, interest rates, and how borrowing wisely can help—not hurt—your financial future.
  • Banking Basics: The benefits of checking and savings accounts, online banking safety, and how to choose the right financial institution.
  • Understanding Credit Cards: How they work, how to use them responsibly, and how to avoid debt traps.
  • Cracking the Credit Code: What your credit score means, what impacts it, and how it influences everything from job offers to home ownership.

Each session encourages open, honest dialogue between moms and daughters, helping to bridge gaps in communication and build a new culture of financial transparency at home. Participants will walk away not only with the tools and knowledge to manage money more effectively, but with a renewed sense of connection, accountability, and shared goals.

Why It Matters:

Financial literacy is generational power. By educating both girls and their mothers together, Financially Fierce lays the groundwork for lasting change. When women and girls understand how to make informed financial decisions, they build independence, reduce financial stress, and open the door to opportunity. This knowledge empowers them to lead more secure lives and instills lifelong habits that ripple through families and communities.

Through shared experiences, practical tools, and a supportive sisterhood, participants will learn that financial freedom isn’t just a dream—it’s a decision. Together, they’ll gain the confidence to not only talk about money—but to master it.

Let’s build legacies, not limitations.Join us for Financially Fierce and take the first step toward changing your financial future—together.

VERY IMPORTANT: There is a NO CELL PHONE rule during the 8-week empowerment program. We have found that girls can be inattentive when they have access to their cell phones. So, we have a cell phone cubby that the girls will have to deposit their phones into, NO EXCEPTIONS. Once class is over, their phones will be returned.

Additionally, all parents must fill out a parental consent form for participating girls. Once registration is secured, you will receive a parental consent form to be filled out in its entirety. Please add on the form if your child has any food allergies. ALL PARENTAL CONSENT FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT IN ITS ENTIRETY AND TURNED IN BY PROGRAM START DATE. IF PARENTAL CONSENT FORM IS NOT RECEIVED BY START DATE REGARDLESS IF REGISTRATION FEE IS PAID, THEY MAY NOT ATTEND.
