Fly in for the final day of Very Eric Carle: A Very Hungry, Quiet, Lonely, Clumsy, Busy Exhibit on Sunday, January 25 from noon to 5 p.m. Co-organized by Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, MA, Very Eric Carle is the first North American traveling exhibit for children inspired by the art of beloved children’s book author and illustrator Eric Carle. The exhibit closes and leaves Topeka forever on January 25, 2026.At this play-and-learn exhibit, visitors step into the pages of Eric Carle’s colorful picture books. His classic “Very” series, all illustrated in his hand-painted tissue paper collage technique, introduces five special insects who take journeys of discovery. Each story is a testament to Eric Carle’s love of nature, his respect for the emotional lives of children, and his recurring themes of friendship, creativity, and the power of imagination.
Regular admission applies, which is $11 for adults and children, $10 for seniors over 65, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 30,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, plus a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.
