Students at FIMS understand that regular exercise is very important, along with their social, emotional, and mental health.FIMS will be holding Healthy Schools Family Night on Thursday, February 5. Parents and family are welcome to participate.
Cost: FREE!!
We will have a raffle baskets available. Tickets for raffle baskets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
This event will have 4 centers that rotate every 15 minutes. Centers include soccer with the CSU-P women’s soccer team, Taekwondo with Pueblo Strong/or Dance, Mrs. King and Drums Alive, and Fitness Fun!
At 7:00 pm, everyone will meet in the gym for some fun student performances, including a special guest appearance by The World’s Strongest Man! A raffle will follow, featuring sporting equipment and gift certificates to local establishments such as Big Daddy’s Bowl, Skate City Roller Skating, and Altitude Trampoline Park.
FIMS will also start its annual SODA CHALLENGE on this same day. The SODA CHALLENGE is a voluntary challenge to see if students, staff, and parents can go 2 weeks without a drop of soda. Participants may also substitute other unhealthy habits. This exercise shows students that ‘they have the power to make healthy decisions,’ and this is their reward if they finish the challenge successfully.
Loose clothing, gym shoes, and water bottles are highly recommended.
