🎬 Join us for a chilling screening of Jordan Peele’s third mind-bending thriller NOPE, followed by a compelling post-film discussion led by Dr. Brandon Ogbunu. Dr. Ogbunu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale and a computational biologist whose research investigates complex problems in epidemiology, genetics, evolution, and society. As the founding director of the Yale Initiative for Science and Society, he runs a parallel research program at the intersection of science, society, and culture.
We will also host special guest Truth Powell, a senior at Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. Truth has a background in theater, poetry, music, and photography and brings a passion for activism and creativity to his writing and short filmmaking. Inspired by storytellers like Jordan Peele, his work explores themes of revolution and social awareness. Truth also participated in RAW's Eye on Video program this summer as a student apprentice.

NOPE centers on two siblings running a horse ranch in rural California who witness a sinister phenomenon in the sky—and a nearby theme park owner eager to turn the spectacle into profit.
Critically acclaimed for its layered storytelling, the film weaves together sci-fi, neo-Western, and horror in striking fashion.
