🎬 Join us for a special screening of Jordan Peele’s 2017 genre-defying debut, GET OUT, followed by an insightful post-film conversation with Dr. Brandon Ogbunu. Dr. Ogbunu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale and a computational biologist whose research investigates complex problems in epidemiology, genetics, evolution, and society. As the founding director of the Yale Initiative for Science and Society, he runs a parallel research program at the intersection of science, society, and culture.
We will also host special guest Truth Powell, a senior at Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. Truth has a background in theater, poetry, music, and photography and brings a passion for activism and creativity to his writing and short filmmaking. Inspired by storytellers like Jordan Peele, his work explores themes of revolution and social awareness. Truth also participated in RAW's Eye on Video program this summer as a student apprentice.
